Who we are

This website is run by Finca La Encantada, Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. For anything related to your personal information, contact us at info@finca-la-encantada.com.

We handle personal information in line with Costa Rica’s Law on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of their Personal Data (Ley 8968) and its regulations.

What we collect

• What you send us through the contact form: your name, email address and, if you choose, your phone or WhatsApp number, the property you are interested in and your message.
• Updates: whether you would like to receive occasional news about properties, the finca and events.
• What you send us by email, WhatsApp or in person when you contact us directly.
• Basic technical information that any website host records, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, kept briefly for security and to keep the site running.

The site stores a few small settings in your own browser, for example whether you hid the review markers or opened the broker area. These stay on your device and are not used to track you. We do not use advertising cookies.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry, share property information and arrange visits.
• To send you updates, only if you ask for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To keep the website secure and filter out spam.
• To meet our legal obligations, for example when a property sale goes ahead.

We use your information on the basis of your consent, which you give when you send the form or contact us, and to take the steps you ask for before a possible purchase.

Who we share it with

We share your information only where it is needed to help you:

• The people who coordinate sales and visits for La Encantada.
• A partner broker, if you were introduced by one or ask to work with one.
• The lawyers, notaries and other professionals involved if you move forward with a purchase.
• The services that run this website and deliver our email and form messages. Some of them may store data outside Costa Rica; we choose providers that protect it appropriately.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for other people’s marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we are in conversation with you, and for up to three years after our last contact, so we can pick up where we left off. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will. Update subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Records connected to a completed purchase are kept as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent to updates. Email info@finca-la-encantada.com and we will reply within the time the law sets. If you are not satisfied, you can contact Costa Rica’s data protection agency, the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB).

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections to this website and limiting access to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive documents, such as passport or bank details, through the contact form.

Children

This website is meant for adults considering a property purchase. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
