About La Encantada
Set against the foothills of the Nicoya Central Mountain range, La Encantada comprises 124Ha (300+ acres) of rolling hills, beautiful valleys, large forested areas and enough open land to walk, horseback ride, bike, or run, as you please. La Encantada is blessed with 360-degree outlooks of the surrounding farms and woodlands, entwined with some beautiful ocean views.
About 80Ha is returned to nature, not to be touched by humankind other than to learn. We are dedicated to natural living and body-mind-soul wellness, focused on promoting health and happiness. Some lucky families will find their homes here; others will visit and heal.
Howlers populate the forest and big cats, coyotes, fox and small groups of deer were spotted crossing the main valleys in the early morning. Sunrise is amazing silence, followed by bright mornings and breezy afternoons. The day comes to rest at sunset in a golden valley where shadows softly caress the trees.

conservation
We are returning cattle land back to its natural origin and have planted over 2000 native trees with a focus on trees that provide food and shelter for wildlife. To protect what we are carefully returning to tropical rainforest, 40% of all the land and 40% of all lots (around 65% of total surface) is protected land.
our vision
La Encantada is a conscious wellness community located just outside Nosara, envisioned to be a residential alternative to the more and more commercializing areas of Guiones & Pelada.
We strive to build a community based on three main thought pillars:
1. Conservation: regeneration of the local tropical forest by planting endemic species and allowing large parts of cattle land return to their original state.
2. Body-Mind-Soul Wellness: as human beings we need to return to our natural state as well. Our bodies are perfectly able to survive in the jungle, as long as we treat them well and with respect. By introducing what we call experiences into different locations of the Finca we aim to help our neighbors restore their physical, mental and spiritual strength.
3. Engagement: As neighbors we are all responsible for the maintenance and growth of the natural areas, together. Next to this, through the introduction of the different experiences, people will be able to find each other doing what they like most. We hope that this shared responsibility and joy may lead to creative conversations and efforts to improve the Finca and the communities beyond, eventually leading to improvements for all our lives and Mother Nature alike.
“No religion, no exclusion, no division. Exclusion & division lead to failure. Concentrate, listen to the silence within, and find your consciousness; try to understand the spiritual extreme, the material extreme and find the meeting point; try to find the real, central, cohesive force.”
